This post is part 3 of a 4 part series on Kamala Khan’s Ms. Marvel.

Part 1: Who is Kamala Khan?
Part 2: How Does a Kamala Khan TV Series Tie Into Marvel’s Cinematic Universe?
Part 3: Kamala Khan Casting Rumors
Part 4: The Difference Between Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel Explained

At this stage, news of a Kamala Khan Ms. Marvel TV series are all rumors. However, given how heavily Marvel’s invested in TV, and how successful the latest run of Ms. Marvel comics has been, its only a matter of time until you have Kamala Khan in your DVR.

We already speculated as to where a Ms. Marvel series will fit into the MCU, the next step is to find an actress that can do justice to the character. Here are 5 actors that we think fit the bill.

Rowan BlanchardRowan Blanchard Kamala Khan

Rowan Blanchard is best known for the disney channel series Girl Meets world. She’s up and coming among teens and definitely has potential as Kamala Khan. Like Kamala, Rowan has MIddle-Eastern heritage and is one of the few people on this list that’s exactly the right age to play the role. She’s only 14 years as of the writing of this article, but 2 years from now she’ll be in the prime of her awkward high school years.

Victoria JusticeVictoria Justice Kamala Khan

Victoria Justice debuted on Nickelodeon as a co-star on shows like Zoey 101 and VIctorious. She’s well known among teens and, even though she’s only 22, has she has a ton of experience on TV. It wouldn’t be a surprised to see a 22 year old play a high-school student (Remember the O.C.?). But if Disney and Marvel want Ms. Marvel to have some longevity, they’ll likely be looking for a younger actress.

Maia MitchellMaia Mitchell Kamala Khan

Maia Mitchell is an Australian actress who’s had some success on TV in the land down under. Today she co-stars in the ABC drama, The Fosters. Studios tend to stick with talent they’re comfortable with. If ABC is happy with Maia’s performance on The Fosters, she could be a front runner for Kamala Khan.

Coco CherianCoco Cherian Kamala Khan

Coco is known primary as Rani Kapoor in the Australian soap opera, Neighbors. She’s virtually unknown in the U.S. which studios love when it comes to casting a brand new character. Ms. Marvel might just be her breakout role.

Sajal AliSajal Ali Kamala Khan

As far a Kamala Khan casting rumors go this one might be a bit of a stretch. Sakal Ali is a Pakistani actress who has appeared in a number of soap operas and romantic dramas in Pakistan. Although we don’t know her in the States, she’s a super-celebrity in Islamabad. As long as she can speak in a convincing American accent, we could totally see her as Kamala.

Who would you like to see cast as Kamala Khan? Although there are quite a few Muslim-American actresses that would love to take on the role, I think ABC will favor bringing on a complete unknown. Kamala Khan’s Ms. Marvel is a very specific character. She’s awkward but opinionated. Intelligent but a little on the clumsy side. Most importantly, fans love her. And they’re not going to jump head first into a TV series unless their leading lady is cast just right. Check out part 4 of our Kamala Khan coverage where we (attempt to) answers your questions and clear up the differences between the upcoming Captain Marvel we’ll see in theaters, and the Ms. Marvel TV series.

Ms. Marvel is not Middle-Eastern. Pakistani’s are South-Asian in origin like Indians, Bangalis and Sri-Lankans. An argument can be made for Central-Asian or event East-Asian as there are many Pakistanis who have traces of such heritage near the Pakistan border of Afghanistan/East Iran and China but Middle-Eastern is a bit of stretch. But then again, who the hell would know the difference …

    • EF AYE

I do hope she comes to MCU tho or at-least a cameo in the Ms. Marvel or Inhumans movie.

    • Amir-Hamza Al Deshi Sheikh

What do you think of Sophia Taylor Ali?
I think she is of Pakistani American origin. She is in her early 20s

  • There’s only one person who can play Ms. Marvel and that’s Summer Bishil.

    • Amir-Hamza Al Deshi Sheikh

I recommend Sophia Taylor Ali. Early 20s and South Asian. Very likely to be either Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Afghan or Iranian origin.

  • Rowelena

I want Rowan Blanchard is Kamala Khan and really really she very good and brave.
Why that I love her so amazing because I know about her well.

  • Amir-Hamza Al Deshi Sheikh

I propose Sophia Taylor Ali. She is about 20 years old as of 2015 and I’m 70% sure she is of South Asian Muslim American Origin. Im guessing she is half Pakistani half White.

  • Anila Parrakesh

What about Kelsey Jaffer? She’s in her early 20’s, and is Pakistani-American! Plus, she looks the part, and is quirky in a way that reminds me of Kamala

  • Lisa Qureshi

I would say Salena Qureshi. She is an actress with several credits and is a Pakistani American from NJ. She also had a martial arts/kickboxing background.
